One Off House
This distinctive design was completed by contractors www.ianmorrissey.com in early 2019.
Our challenge for this new build design was to create a house that could be assimilated into the sensitive site located within a protected woodland area.
With a steep hill on the site a split level design was chosen to both reduce the visual impact of the house and the material impact of the site works; excavation and site clearance required.
The clients brief for a flexible and affordable house was achieved with a compact floor plan which can be easily adapted internally to suit the changing needs of the occupants.
The house has been laid out to maximise on natural light and solar gain making the house both bright and energy efficient.
The design aesthetic achieved is modern; simple and uncluttered.
