one off house
Our first new build from inception to completion this house was a seminal project for us.
We still consider ourselves very lucky to have worked with such great clients. In addition the building contractors www.triurconstruction.com were exceptional completing the build in 2013 both on time and on budget.
We designed the house to be energy efficient going beyond anything standard at the time and using passive house principles throughout. The orientation of the house is laid out to maximise on all the benefits of passive solar gain, which provides free heat on even the coldest winter days as well as an abundance of natural day light.
In addition to this the excellent and attentive work of Truir Construction and specialist subcontractor Clioma House delivered a blow door test result of 0.8 ACH. The passive house approach resulted in an A3 Building Energy Rating and at 53.6 kWh/M2/yr (it was extremely close to an A2 rating) without the inclusion of an expensive heating system.
The expertise of the design team including Structural Engineer, Gabor Molnar and Quantity Surveyors, Hession and Associates also played a vital role in this successful project.
